This video is of the installation of the bees in my in-laws backyard. The bees in this hive are being fed with an exterior bottle feeder containing 1:1 sugar water and frames of honey.
It rained off and on all weekend. On Saturday, I fed both the hives sugar syrup. There was a break in the rain on Sunday so I checked on the old hive to see how it was doing.
There was lots of brood but not much honey. They had some nectar and pollen stored. Lots of drones in the hive and newly emerged bees. I replaced their old bottom board with a screened one to increase air circulation in the hive. The old bottom board was clean when I removed it. The bees are doing an excellent job of house cleaning.
